Hello

Meet the Founder of the Moon Bear Mobile Learning Lab

Welcome to the Moon Bear Mobile Learning Lab! I am excited to share a bit about myself and the journey that led to the creation of this unique initiative.

I was born and raised in France, where my love for nature first took root. The mountains and vast wilderness of my homeland eventually called me to beautiful British Columbia, which I now proudly call home. Although I have traveled and lived in various countries, including Nepal, New Zealand, and, of course, France, it is Canada that has truly captured my heart.

My connection with nature runs deep. I feel most alive in the mountains and forests of BC, where I spend my free time exploring with my beloved dog, Kenai. This profound bond with the outdoors has fueled my passion for environmental education and conservation.

Professionally, my journey has been as diverse as it has been fulfilling. I’ve had the privilege of working as an Early Childhood Educator Assistant and as a youth worker at a wonderful daycare and preschool center in North Vancouver, BC called Little Rascals Daycare. These roles allowed me to nurture young minds and foster a love for learning, laying the foundation for my work with the Moon Bear Mobile Learning Lab.

My travels took me to Kathmandu, Nepal, where I connected with Nepal Orphans Home. Over the years, I’ve volunteered numerous times, managed one of the houses, and even served as the interim director for the Chelsea Community Centre. These experiences have enriched my understanding of different cultures and educational practices, bringing a global perspective to my work.

Before becoming an interpretive and hiking guide, I honed my skills in navigating the wild and sharing my knowledge with others. My background as a mountain guide, combined with my extensive experience working with children, uniquely positions me to lead the Moon Bear Mobile Learning Lab. This project is a dream come true, allowing me to merge my passion for education and conservation to create an enriching environment for young learners.

In addition to my professional endeavors, I remain committed to my community through various volunteer roles. I continue to work alongside my mentor and dear friend Lydia, delivering Bear Aware programs and rescuing bear cubs whenever possible. Moreover, I serve as a volunteer firefighter, embodying a spirit of service and dedication to my community.

My vision for the Moon Bear Mobile Learning Lab is to elevate environmental education to new heights, sharing my wealth of knowledge and experiences with the next generation. I invite you to join us on this exciting journey and discover the wonders of nature through my guidance and unwavering passion.

Welcome to a world where education meets adventure, led by someone who has dedicated their life to both.
